Apple’s got more than one patent devoted to solar powered devices, and today we’ve got yet another. Patently Apple has dug up plans for a touch-sensitive integrated solar panel for media players.
While it might be a bit premature to expect the next iPhone to incorporate solar cells, the flat back design would certainly make it easier to achieve. Let’s not get too excited, though; patents are filed defensively as often as they indicate actual products in the pipeline. But at the very least, there’s mounting evidence that in a few years your iPhone will be charged by the sun. [Patently Apple]
