Jerad Bales is an engineer and hydrologist, he’s here today to answer our questions about the recent droughts in the U.S., water quality, and what we can expect for the future of water.

Dr. Bales is the Acting Associate Director for Water at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). His research focuses especially on water resources, hazards, and quality. He also co-chairs the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Subcommittee on Water Availability and Quality.

He’ll be joining us today from 1-2 p.m. (Pacific time), so start asking him questions now about water shortages and quality issues around the world, the droughts in California, and what we might expect from the droughts of the future.
