When you’re about to drop a black market kidney payment on a graphics card, you may go for flat-out speed—which makes sense. But another option might be more than enough speed and support for six displays.

The upcoming ASUS 5870 Eyefinity, price and ship date TBA, is a PCI Express 2.1 card that combines an overclocked 850MHz Radeon HD 5870 GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 RAM. Thanks to Eyefinity tech, it can drive six (2560×1600) displays through miniDisplay ports—plus it can be paired with another card through CrossFire support (which would, in essence, give you a dual-GPU Radeon 5970).

So do you go with the less connected dragster that is the Sapphire Radeon 5970 or the sports car with cupholders that is the ASUS 5870 Eyefinity? If you’re like me, you’ll just look at these cards and be happy know that they’ll go for $50, eventually. [SlashGear]
