Earlier this year we saw Bandai’s ‘Samurai Taisho’ Darth Vader, a Japanese take on a Western icon, at the Tokyo Toy Show. Now the Dark Lord of the Samurai is being joined by some henchmen in these wonderful Stormtrooper figures!

Bandai revealed two more figures in their ‘Star Wars Movie Realisation’ line at the recent Tamashii Nation event at Akiba Square in Tokyo – the Teppou Ashigaru Sandtrooper above (you can just about make out his orange pauldron), complete with his own Tanegashima to replace the Sandtrooper’s T-21 Light Repeating Blaster, and a normal Ashigaru Stormtrooper, seen below:

Bandai were only allowing close up photography of these two figures, but pictures of their whole Movie Realisations display also revealed Japanese takes on the Imperial Royal Guard, as well as a third Stormtrooper design, complete with an Imperial insignia-emblazonedSashimono:

There’s no word on a price or release date for these – The Samurai Taisho Vader due for December retails for around 9,500 yen or roughly $82 – but I think I’ll snap up one of these lovely Stormies whenever they start showing up.
