Inspired by a love of the craptacular scifi classics of the ’80s, Canadian filmmaking collective Astron-6 Video have unleashed a trailer for their latest — a gloriously cheesy gem of hackery called Manborg.
Oh, man…it’s all there: stop-motion wizardry, kung-fu fisticuffs, space mutants, “bad” blue-screen work. Manborg feels like an old VHS clamshell you’d pull off the video-store shelf and muse to yourself, “Hmmm, so that’s what happened to Jeff Speakman.” These Astron-6 fellas seem to know exactly what they’re doing — can’t wait to see the finished feature sometime later this year.
