Behold the first trailer for Tarsem (The Cell, The Fall) Singh’s return to scifi — Selfless, a story about how Ben Kingsley wants to live forever in the body of Ryan Reynolds. Who wouldn’t, AMIRITE?
Selfless seems like your traditional “new technology isn’t what it seems (it’s actually terrible)” scifi tale. But with Singh’s visuals and Reynolds and Kingsley ACTING in the same body, it could prove to be pretty exciting. All of Singh’s work is consistently gorgeous, so we’re interested to see how he will leave his mark on a film that doesn’t appear to be astoundingly visual. However, the technology in the footage above is all pretty horrifying/intriguing/kinda pretty.
Selfless will premier on July 31st, 2015.
