8. Avatoon: They really want you to pay for it

This one is a good alternative for Bitmoji if you’re not into the Snapchat-connectedness of it all and are looking for more options than the alternative. But beware that you might get put off by the opening prompt to pay $40/year for unlimited access. You can tap to deny the ask by tapping, but you’ll be forced to endure ads once you start the avatar customization process.

Unfortunately, much of the cute stuff is behind a paywall, but you can constantly watch annoying advertising for crappy apps to grind out “coins” instead. But even when you have enough coins to buy something, you will be pummeled with ads if you’re not paying for a pro account. You’ll also have to fork over cash to remove the watermark.
