The upcoming i5 MacBook Pro refresh might be closer than we thought, with TUAW discovering that Best Buy emptied their systems of the current version. Since they're not likely to go MacBook-less for long, that points to soon. [TUAW]
Well, yeah. Can Apple even buy high spec'd Core 2 Duo chips from Intel in bulk anymore? On the Windows side of the aisle, the Core i3/i5 chips are just about all there are to buy now, unless you are looking for a ULV part. A refresh has to happen within a month or so.
My question is, will they get a nice beefy i7 QM machine? If I'm gonna pay $2k for a laptop, I want 8 logical cores!
