One of the most disturbing movies you will ever see relentlessly mines social awkwardness to the point of extreme horror—and that includes scenes where it’s simply people in a room talking. Things do get more visceral eventually, but by that point you’re already in a state of agony watching Speak No Evil’s hapless characters tumbling into a situation where politeness becomes an agent of doom.
