Epidemiology

The study of diseases and their spread will remain a crucial discipline well after the covid-19 pandemic is behind us. A career in epidemiology typically requires a master’s in public health or a doctorate in a related medical field. Our No. 1 school, Johns Hopkins University, established its epidemiology department in 1919 and the first professorship of epidemiology in 1930. The department has eight research tracks and research opportunities in over a dozen countries.

These are the the three best universities to pursue a degree in epidemiology:

1. Johns Hopkins University

2. Columbia University in the City of New York

3. Harvard University
