Brains studying brains—despite our own intelligence and advances in technology, there’s still so much we don’t understand about our most human organ. Neuroscience investigates the brain in an effort to better understand emotion, decision-making, mental health, and how we move about and interact with the world. The No. 1 school on our list, the University of California, Los Angeles, has over 200 faculty members studying the brain, from its ordinary functions to neurological diseases.
