WPX Hosting Review — Is it the Best WordPress Hosting?

By Florian Gray

While we can debate indefinitely about the fastest web hosts, WPX Hosting is confident it’s the fastest WordPress hosting service. Whether this is true is yet to be seen in our WPX Hosting review. After extensively testing it, we must say we’re impressed with this provider.

While slightly pricier overall, it includes industry-leading managed WordPress and WooCommerce plans. Moreover, it excels in computing resources, uptime, support, and security. In simple words, it’s a well-rounded package with one eye-piercing caveat.

WPX Hosting is only for WordPress/WooCommerce websites! If this doesn’t sit right with you, then you may leave. If you’re dead-set on going the WordPress route, this WPX Hosting review for 2026 will leave nothing in the tank. Here’s our first-hand experience with WPX Hosting where we’ll see how good and reliable it is in 2026.

WPX Hosting Plans, Pricing, and Features

We’ll start this comprehensive WPX Hosting test with its plans, pricing, and features. As explained previously, WPX Hosting offers two types of plans: WordPress and WooCommerce. Albeit, these are almost the same because WooCommerce is an e-commerce plugin for WordPress.

WordPress Plans and Features

Let’s examine WordPress plans first. You’ll immediately see that WPX Hosting isn’t the cheapest pick of the litter. At $20.83/mo billed yearly, the Business plan is the lowest-hanging fruit. Annual plans all offer 2 free months that add plentiful to the value.

So, the Business plan includes:

  • 5 websites
  • 15 GB of storage
  • 200 GB of bandwidth
  • Free business email
  • 5 GB of RAM
  • 1 CPU core
  • 15 PHP workers
  • 99.95% uptime guarantee
  • Free malware removal, and more…

All plans offer features like staging, unlimited site migrations, on-demand backups, free SSL, DDoS protection, managed WAF, LiteSpeed servers/caching, and more. For the price, WPX Hosting is extremely well-rounded, but it does lack a free domain name for the first year.

On the other hand, it includes WHOIS privacy if you register a domain through it. As you see above, the Professional and Elite plans at $41.58/mo and $83.25/mo respectively offer the same features, but are scaled up. You’ll get more sites, storage, bandwidth, CPU cores, etc.

We reviewed WPX Hosting using the Professional plan, although the Business plan is more than sufficient for an average user because it includes all the features displayed in the screenshot above. You’ll agree that the list is lengthier than what you’ll find in typical WPX Hosting competitors.

Thus, the asking price is effortlessly justified.

WooCommerce Plans and Features

If you’re looking to build an online shop, WPX Hosting WooCommerce will be right up your alley. Fully equipped e-commerce hosting plans are there, starting with Powerstore at $29.17/mo, again, with 2 free months. As you can see, pricing plans are a bit different.

For example, the Powerstore plan offers:

  • 1 website
  • 20 GB of storage
  • 300 GB bandwidth
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 10 PHP workers
  • 2 CPU cores
  • Redis cache, and other features discussed above.

WooCommerce plans are, in our experience, more speed-oriented. Redis cache is a good case in point, but also the 50% increased bandwidth from 200 GB to 300 GB. With more RAM (8 GB vs 5 GB before), your server will handle more simultaneous tasks without stuttering.

In our WPX Hosting review, we found its WooCommerce hosting offers slightly pricier, but after testing Superstore at $62.50/mo as a mid-ranger, we were fond of it. WPX Hosting’s stores are insanely quick and responsive, leaving that premium impression on the user.

The only thing we’d like is to see more websites in WooCommerce plans. You can host only 1 to 5 websites, which sort of makes sense because you won’t have 20 online stores. However, at these steep prices, it wouldn’t hurt to be more generous.

Is WPX Hosting Fast? Speed Test Results

Yes, WPX Hosting was fast, and drawing from our experience, it’s among the better-performing WordPress hosts.

This is a result of many features and factors. For example, WPX Hosting offers data centers in three locations, such as the USA, Australia, and the UK. Its US server is in Chicago (the one we selected), while the rest are in Sydney and London. Arguably, it’s not the largest fleet.

SiteGround and Hostinger offer more, but given WPX Hosting’s server distribution, we’d say it covered the biggest markets. Next, WPX Hosting uses LiteSpeed servers that, while not necessarily faster than NGINX, are miles ahead of Apache used by cheaper web hosts.

Finally, WPX Hosting comes with the WPX XDN cache, which is a proprietary CDN. It ensures there’s a minimal speed difference for visitors from different parts of the globe. Whether you’re in Germany or Singapore, the website should perform almost on par.

That said, WPX Hosting has all the elements of fast web hosting, which will soon be proven.

GTmetrix Speed Test Results

We’ll begin with our GTmetrix speed tests. For our WPX Hosting review of speed and performance, we used the Professional plan and made a website using the popular Astra theme for WordPress. It’s lightweight and generally flexible, which gives us ample freedom.

We included a blog section, a couple of interactive elements, and lots of compressed JPEG images. After that, we ran our tests on GTmetrix, using the default server in Vancouver, Canada, and observed five metrics: TTFB, FCP, LCP, CLS, and FLT.

Here’s the first portion of our tests. We can see that WPX Hosting is pretty fast overall. The only debatable result is LCP or Largest Contentful Paint, which might be a mistake on our end, an uncompressed image, or something similar. However, it’s still under 1.2 seconds.

The second portion of our WPX Hosting testing is related to browser timings. Again, these are exquisite results, especially for TTFB or Time to First Byte, which was at 355 ms. That indicates that WPX Hosting’s servers are responsive and take very little to process the initial user’s request.

We should also mention FLT or Fully Loaded Time, which, at 1.1 seconds, is pretty good, and on par with LCP. It means that, as soon as the largest element on the page is loaded, the page is fully loaded, as well.

TTFB 355 ms
FCP 523 ms
LCP 1.1 s
CLS 0
FLT 1.1 s

Our speed test results for WPX Hosting on GTmetrix are in the table above for easier understanding. While not record-breaking, they indeed indicate strong hosting performance and short page-loading times that ultimately produce a snappy and smooth experience.

Uptime and Average Response Time

WPX Hosting has a promised uptime of 99.95%, which sounds ideal on paper. No hosting is 100% all the time, and some outages here and there will spoil the fun — in an ideal scenario, not that much. To test WPX Hosting, we used the good old Pingdom and performed a test in the past three months.

Much to our surprise, WPX Hosting hasn’t encountered any outages in the past three months, showcasing a 100% uptime, which is more than the promised 99.95%. Its response times are excellent, and while they’ll not reinvent the wheel, they’re far below the standard.

In a good way, of course.

Shared hosting’s response time should be roughly 600 ms, although 650 ms is often treated as good. After examining our results, we noted an average response time of 376 ms. It’s a bit slower than SiteGround and DreamHost, and almost on par with Hostinger, so there’s nothing to complain about.

Is WPX Hosting Easy to Use? Here’s Our Experience

Performing daily hosting management with WPX Hosting is enjoyable enough, but arguably not the simplest-to-use solution. If you swear by cPanel and deem it some Godlike hosting panel, you’ll be shocked to see its absence. Is there an option to get it? Unfortunately, no.

Instead, WPX Hosting relies on a proprietary control panel. It looks quite… silly?! At first glance, its punchy colors will hit you right in the face. There’s a blend of yellow, orange, and purple, all creating this wonderful mess. On the left, you’ll find hosting menus and tools.

It is where you’ll access email boxes, databases, website management, backups, a file manager, and so on. When you start to use it and do so for a day or two, you’ll realize that WPX Hosting isn’t so complicated, especially for website management.

You’ll be able to apply SSL, check website logs, and manage WordPress. The Create Staging button allows you to make a copy of your website and implement changes that you can test without ruining your “live” version of the website.

How to Migrate to WPX Hosting?

While we used a separate website to test WPX Hosting, we also attempted a migration of one of our older testing sites. All we had to do was fill out the Migration Form, which was available after we subscribed.

From there, we selected the website from our list, clicked on “Send a Migration Request”, and selected a free migration, which takes about 24 hours. Our team had to provide WPX Hosting full access to website files, after which, we just followed the steps to complete the process.

All in all, migrations are free and simple to perform, especially through the said Migration Form. You can, however, contact the support team directly, and it’ll guide you through the process by virtually holding your hand. Either way, it’ll be done in less than 24 hours.

Installing WordPress on Your WPX Hosting Website

WPX Hosting advertises one-click WordPress installation and is a popular choice for creating a WordPress website. While it’s not literally a one-click process, it’s still simple enough.

  • Go to your dashboard.
  • Select Manage Websites on the left.
  • Click on Manage WP next to your domain.
  • In the pop-up that appears, select “Install WordPress on website“.

After that, you’ll have to choose the database and provide your email/username, and your password. WPX Hosting also recommends installing W3 Total Cache, which we accepted. From there, we could access our admin panel by adding “/wp-admin” next to the domain address.

How Does Staging Function in WPX Hosting?

Staging is a simple process where you deploy a copy of your website for testing. However, one thing we don’t like in WPX Hosting is that the copy of the website fills up one slot. For instance, if you have 4 sites on the Business plan, a staging copy is your 5th site.

Conversely, if you have 5 websites on the same plan, you essentially won’t be able to make a staging copy unless you remove one website. To that, we’ll add that your databases should be smaller than 1 GB and your website files should not go above 5 GB in size.

Besides that, it’s easy to make a staging copy with basically one click. Click Create Staging, provide the domain address, and press Deploy Staging Instance.

Website Backups: How Do They Work?

Daily website backups are something we always appreciate and WPX Hosting offers them free of charge. Hostinger does the same in its Business plan. During our WPX Hosting analysis, we had the option to rely strictly on automatic daily backups or perform them ourselves.

We opted for automatic backups, although we also tried backing up some of our websites with great success. WPX Hosting preserves backups on servers different from your hosting server, so they don’t take up space.

Best of all, you can restore backups easily through the Backups menu in your dashboard. All daily backups are kept for 28 days on the server, so you can go back to any day with a click and revert the website to its previous state.

How Secure is WPX Hosting?

Our WPX Hosting review for 2026 would be half-baked without the security analysis. The most impressive thing about WPX Hosting is that its plans are stuffed like pillows. You don’t have this philosophy of “buy this and buy that additionally.” Everything you need is here.

As a result, there’s no shortage of cutting-edge security features that we embrace with both arms. Besides, in our tests, we never had a single issue with malware attacks and data loss, owning to WPX Hosting’s etched-in security measures. They include:

  • Free SSL
  • WHOIS Privacy
  • Automated daily backups
  • DDoS protection
  • Malware scans and removals
  • Web Application Firewall
  • 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication)

A free SSL from the provider is enough to encrypt your data. It uses Let’s Encrypt SSL but doesn’t apply it automatically. Luckily, you can do that by clicking on Manage Websites on your dashboard, choosing SSL, and picking Let’s Encrypt SSL from the drop-down menu.

As for DDoS protection, WPX Hosting uses Incapsula, which is one of the best solutions. Application and network layers are both covered, ensuring proper protection against DDoS attacks and other specky threats. Malware scans and removals are mandatory to review.

We’re impressed at how diligent WPX Hosting is with the 24/7/365 website monitoring that catches malware and stomps it before it spreads like wildfire. As one of the most secure web hosts in 2026, it’s no surprise that these measures worked like a well-maintained watch.

Customer Support

Some hosting services will make you jump through hoops to contact their human representatives. Not WPX Hosting. We were blown away at how efficient its support was. There’s a quick live chat widget on the site, which allows you to get in touch in a minute.

Click Chat Now and then provide your email and name — again, press Start the Chat.

The agent will pick you up shortly and will help you out as best as he/she can. We had no specific issues in our WPX Hosting test, so we asked about different features, pricing plans, and more. They were happy to answer all questions, even though we might’ve been annoying. Sorry for that.

If you’re not a chatty type, you can open a support ticket and get a response later on. If you’re not chatty at all, then the knowledge base is for you, and might we add, it’s one of the best we’ve seen, with the most pressing issues upfront, such as getting started, migrations, billing, etc.

Summary: Is WPX Worth the Money?

We’ve clarified that WPX Hosting doesn’t aim to be the best cheap hosting available. However, based on our hands-on experience, we don’t think it’s priced inappropriately, although, objectively, it is a pricier option for those on a less flexible budget.

If we add to that the lack of a free domain, WPX Hosting might be a bit chewy bite for some people to swallow. Meanwhile, the provider is equipped with a long list of features for WordPress and WooCommerce websites, that honestly surpass some of the best picks.

As you’ve seen in our WPX Hosting review, it’s very fast, too, with handy automated daily backups, staging copies, simple WordPress installations, reliable customer support, and outstanding website security. You’ll pay additionally to get some of these tools elsewhere.

So, to conclude, WPX Hosting is great for WordPress if you don’t mind the premium price tag. For less money, you can pick Hostinger or SiteGround as well, as they come with managed WordPress in all plans, with fast speeds, lots of features, and easy-to-use panels.

But if you’re dead set on WPX Hosting, now you know it will turn your dreams into reality.
