Back in the olden days of photography, big box cameras had slow as snails shutters so it was nearly impossible to get kids to sit still for the duration of the long exposure. If they moved, the pictures would be blurry! So what was the old photog solution? Why let's have their mothers hide under blankets and blend into the background to comfort the kid!
It's pretty hilarious (and also very frightening) how horribly hidden these mothers were. With the younger kids, they just cover themselves with a black cloth or hide behind some curtains. With slightly older kids, you'll see mothers pretend to be furniture. Either way, I'm so thankful camera technology has improved so I don't have to do this with my future kid. [Retronaut via Kottke]
They couldn't have found a bigger sheet? Also, kid on the far left is awesome.
Again, the short sheet issue is comically hilarious. The picture on the right scares me silly.
I SPY AN ELBOW
Frightening, I tell ya.
