Look at the Graceful Path of an Attack Helicopter as It Spits Fire

This is what a US Army AH-64 Apache attack helicopter looks like from a distance as it strafes the night sky: A graceful curve of light with only arcs of sparks to reveal that it’s actually spewing ammunition.

This long exposure shot was taken during an exercise called Eager Centaur which took place in an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia on February 1st. You can see the the path of the aircraft as a continuous red line from right to left, which was drawn by its position lights. The rest of the streaks of light are the traces of shots fired toward the ground.
