Canon launched the Xeed SX6, a projector that will take its place at the top of the Xeed line (known as Realis in the United States). This native SXGA+ (1400×1050) unit has three LCOS (liquid crystal on silicon) panels, which means seamless, butta-smooth images without that pesky screen door effect. Canon’s quoting some impressive specs of 3500 lumens with a contrast ratio of 1000:1. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet for this unit that will be shipped in mid-May, but its predecessor, the SX 50, runs around $4000.
