Charlie Jane Anders is the managing editor at io9. She tried to build a bridge to the 29th century, but fell off halfway across.
Besides being the managing editor at io9.com, Charlie Jane has written for Mother Jones Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, the San Francisco Chronicle and a ton of magazines and anthologies. She has stories in Best Science Fiction & Fantasy 2009 and Best Lesbian Erotica 2010, which both came out around the same time. She wrote a novel called Choir Boy, which came out in 2005.

In her spare time, Charlie Jane organizes a reading series called Writers With Drinks, where science fiction authors rub elbows with literary writers, comedians, poets and tons of other genres. Charlie Jane and Writers With Drinks just got namechecked in the latest Tales of the City book by Armistead Maupin.
Prior to working together at io9, Charlie Jane collaborated with Annalee Newitz on a book of essays called She's Such A Geek and an indy mag, other magazine.
