Cingular to Charge for Old Cell Use

If you are still rocking out that brick style cellphone—yes, you Zach Morris—then your pocketbook may take a hit because Cingular will begin charging an extra fee for persons using older style phones. A $5 fee will be tacked on to anyone using a phone operating on an analog signal or TDMA technology. Basically Cingular wants everyone to be one big GSM networked family. Legislation says that cellphone service providers have to provide analog service until the end of 2008, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t be complete assholes and charge for it.
