Could Minecraft Actually Be the Ultimate Educational Tool?

Playing the video game Minecraft is a joke that writes itself. Ooh, look at nerds building the world they want to live in! But it's actually engaging, like playing with a digital Lego. Could it also be the ultimate educational tool? PBS' Idea Channel examines Minecraft's case for wrinkling our brain.

PBS says:

Some experts have brought Minecraft into the classroom, allowing teachers to customize lessons and students to engage with concepts in new ways. And while educational games aren't new, Minecraft has some unique advantages that could usher in a new direction in education. In the future, students across the world may spend their class time punching trees.

I had a minecraft 'party' with some of my friends a couple of weeks ago, and one of my super hot female friends played with us. It was actually HER idea :O She spent 4 hours digging a tunnel... a long, nonsensical tunnel... but the point is that you can't call Minecraft a nerd game!
