Counterfeit Bluetooth

Apparently there is a big problem in Britain right now with “counterfeit” Bluetooth gear. It’s not that the stuff, like cellphone headsets, don’t actually have Bluetooth radios in them, it’s that the people making the counterfeit gear aren’t registered members of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group and aren’t authorized to use the trademarked “Bluetooth” label on their products. The result, the Bluetooth Special Interest Group claims, are shoddy knockoffs that don’t have the quality of the real thing, which is exactly what LVMH says about all those fake Louis Vuitton bags that are sold on Canal Street here in New York.
