D-Link has a new upgrade which can bump up the speed of its Xtreme G 802.11g wireless networking gear from 54mbps to 108mbps. As usual with these kinds of things, this sort of speed boost only works if both the wireless networking card and the wireless access point you’re using are from D-Link and have the upgrade installed, so D-Link’s stuff won’t work with Netgear’s line of double-speed 802.11g gear.
