Benjamin Dewey’s “Tragedy Series” illustrates tragic and absurd events — mass tea-finger sprains, vengeful elephant seals, stolen dirigibles — and many focus on monstrous and mythical creatures. But it’s not all tears and terror for these beasties. Occasionally, Dewey grants his subjects a “Sadness Reprieve,” such as when the minotaur takes up the cello or squids try beach volleyball.
