The DISH hopper is probably the slickest DVR that’s ever been made. It’s so good that big TV corporations like CBS are suing DISH over it. Well now the Hopper is going to be even more convenient for owners of LG Smart TVs because the new Dish App builds a Hopper directly into the TV. No external hardware necessary.
As smart TVs and set-top-boxes have both become increasingly smart and the latter have become basically essential, it was only a matter of time until the two converged. Pretty soon, the set-top-box won’t be a box so much as a piece of software that enables a service on your TV. And that’s a good thing because who needs wires and boxes cluttering up their lives?
