Do FlashForward’s Showrunner Troubles Leave The Show Without A Vision?

With a month to go before it’s return to television screens, ABC’s FlashForward has hit yet another bump in an already rough creative journey: Co-creator David Goyer is no longer in charge of the series.

Goyer, who created the show with former-Star Trek (and current-24) producer Brannon Braga, has been the showrunner for the oracular sciencefear series since late October last year, when original showrunner Marc Guggenheim departed, but has had to deal with the network halting production and publicly demand an increase in the quality of writing. Goyer says that he will still be “involved” in the show in some manner, but that his movie commitments pull his attention elsewhere:

As my feature projects have started ramping up again, I felt I was being pulled in too many directions… I’m proud of the show and excited about the relaunch. It’s in great hands.

Whose hands, however, remain to be seen; ABC has not announced who will take over as showrunner for the production of the remaining seven episodes this season.

FlashForward returns on March 18th.
