Today, our man Shabbir Safdar hit the booths to pick up photos of some of the latest and greatest gaming peripherals (and this Matrix sentinal model), and added his commentary and explanations, to boot. Thanks, Shabbir!
(There are tons of photos after the jump)
This is the coolest thing I saw, and I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t get a great photo. It’s way, way cool. Works with any game (they had Tekken setup) and you punch and kick around the pole to get certain moves. I was able to win consistently within a few minutes of trying it. They’re looking for a distributor.

Gaming Pillow (Pyramat)
You’ve seen the gaming pillow before, right? (We have, actually. – Joel) They dropped the price to $99, which is nice and cheap. I’m going to get two.

Tek Panel 370 is an all in one flat panel, DVD r/rw, Pentium 4 game box, DVR. It’s pretty cool looking.
These are wireless controllers complete with headset. They use the 2.4ghz frequency hopping technique.
Pretty cool driving seat.
Good Work Systems’ Gaming Mouse
This thing was pretty cool. The guys that built it understand the concept of “fine motor control” in your hands, and built this to accomodate. It’s really cool. I was a badass when using it.

These people make games you interact with: boxing, tennis, and ping pong. You swing racquets or gloves at the screen. It was fun to play.
These babies wrap around your existing form factor. They had a couple on display, but I think they were really interested in selling lots of them to game publishers, not ones or twos to consumers.
This is pretty sweet. It’s a desk designed to be your gaming center, complete with rotatable arms to move different controllers (steering wheel, etc) out of the way. It comes bare bones (see photo) and you outfit it with your rig.
BUTTKICKER!
Perhaps this is better suited for Fleshbot, because it’s basically a big vibrator. They’ve built it into barcalounger, and they have a unit that clamps onto your office desk chair. It works, of course, and I have to say I was a little uncomfortable sitting at it playing for a while. I couldn’t tell if I was annoyed or overstimulated. It’s perhaps not best for games where you’re shooting a machine gun, since the vibration would be constant, but more appropriate for games where it vibrates when you get shot.

Glovesplay
No love, no glove….oh wait, wrong genre. The salesman was insistent that one of the customers hear about how you can “toss this thing into the washing machine when you’re done playing”. I didn’t think he quite got the alien nature of a washing machine to this guy.
Either way, I could see how it would get rid of sweaty palm.
This was a pretty cool robot I thought, when I stopped to look at it. I asked the guy to do a demo. It’s not really an Aibo competitor. It won’t just hang around, it needs to be controlled. I asked the guy to pick up a cup, which he did, and then drop it, which he did. But then I asked him to do it again, and *he moved the cup back to the robot* before picking it up again. Can’t he make the robot go over and get it?
