Here’s a torture device for the unmotivated and TV addicted: The Intertrainer Exercise Motivator ($140) from PowerUp Fitness, which is wirelessly connected to the TV and turns down the volume if you don’t exercise hard enough. Just strap it around your torso, and if you start slacking off it senses your relaxation, going so far as shutting off the TV altogether.
At first glance we thought this was an electroshock device similar to that Invisible Fence collar you put around a dog’s neck to stun it into submission. Alas, for that we’ll have to wait for version 2.0. Either way, the whole idea is kind of sad.
