What’d the monolithic Japanese company do this time? They’ve swapped out the hardware-based backward compatibility on the PlayStation 3 for software-based ones. This means less PS2 games will be playable on the PS3, which is already having enough trouble keeping the visual quality up-to-par with the older console. Add to that an already late launch, and Europeans are feeling more screwed than ever.
