After last Friday's tease, now it can be revealed: Boom! Studio's new Farscape series will put badguy and leather fetishist Scorpius in the spotlight, with show creator Rockne S. O'Bannon firmly in charge.
The new series, aptly titled Farscape: Scorpius, will launch in April, with O'Bannon providing plots for Star Trek novelist David Alan Mack, who'll script the book with Mike Ruiz illustrating. O'Bannon considered the choice of star:
What is it about villains that fascinates us so? Darth Vader, Hannibal Lecter, Galactus, Magneto...and in the Farscape universe it's Scorpius. Fans of Farscape who've always wondered what's going on in that sick little black leather clad head of Scorpius's are in for a real treat. And readers who are new to Farscape but whose tastes run toward the freakish, shocking, and totally unsettling should find the Scorpius books the perfect dark entry into the ongoing Farscape world.
The new book will open with Scorpius deposed from his throne on Hyneria before, according to the publisher, "making a bold new discovery that could put him back on top of the Uncharted Territories."
The first issue of the series is available for order with Diamond Code of FEB100749.
