It looks like a vista from some distant sci-fi planet, but this is actually a forest near the River Mur, where Austria borders Slovenia. And the steel and aluminum helix stretching above the treetops isn’t any less arresting up close:
The 168-stepped watchtower, dubbed the Murturm, was completed earlier this year by the Munich-based group terrain:loenhart&mayr. I’m sure the Austrian woods are nice, but I’d still probably pretend I was in Pandora. [Dezeen]
