Based on the wonderful 1983 novel by Mark Helprin, Winter’s Tale is set in an alternative timeline starting at the turn of the 20th century in New York City. But this Gotham has magic, gangs, and a gorgeous white flying horse straddled by Colin Farrell.
This long awaited movie is FINALLY releasing some footage, and so far so good. It had better be good because fans of this novel will not settle for less. Here’s the official synopsis for the film: “Set in a mythic New York City and spanning more than a century, “Winter’s Tale” is a story of miracles, crossed destinies, and the age-old battle between good and evil.” That’s right doomed love, flying horses and a collection of magical victorian gangs lead by Russell Crowe.
Winter’s Tale will premiere on February 14th, 2014. Which makes us wonder, why is this the first footage we’re seeing of this?
