InfoSync has their first impressions of JVC’s 3CCD 4GB hard drive based camcorder from a recent hands-on at CeBIT. The Everio GZ-MC500E allows the user to easily swap out the existing 4GB Microdrive card making future upgrades simple and also offers myriad quality settings to increase recording time from its default 60 minutes (near-DVD-quality) to as many as 5 hours of video. The infoSync piece has more on their personal experience with the $1,800 device, but overall their impressions were that it looks to be quite the camcorder. It also includes a separate SD/MMC card slot and supports PictBridge for direct-to-printer connectivity. JVC says it will launch sometime this month.
