The first ever trailer for Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard's twisty scifi horror film The Cabin In The Woods is out — and holy hell, does it look like bloody good fun.
The only synopsis we had on this creature feature was the simple "kids alone in the woods" synopsis: "A group of friends at a cabin retreat scratch the surface of something so massive and horrific that they can only begin to fathom it as time quickly runs out." And as you can tell from the trailer, there's a lot more going on in this cabin than your traditional slasher flick. It looks like the kids have unwittingly stumbled upon a high tech, scifi Hostel-like world with force fields, creatures and mysterious overlords with the ability to change the very landscape around the cabin. We're in.
The long-delayed Cabin in the Woods will hit theaters on April 13th, 2012.
