David Michod, the director behind the very well received Animal Kingdom, has helmed a brutal post-apocalyptic moviecalled The Rover, starring Robert Pattinson and Guy Pearce. The premise is simple: Pattinson’s brother steals Pearce’s car and leaves Pattinson for dead. He’s not — road trip!
The brutal landscape is composed of dust, dirt and nothingness. It appears as if whatever happened to the world has already come to pass. And the remaining humans are just trying to survive. Which also means lots of shooting guns and screaming and waxing on philosophically about the meaning of life and so on. Either way, Michod usually delivers something eye-opening, so we’re excited.
The Rover will make its debut at the Cannes film festival. Very excited to see more of this one.
