Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? Sorry, I mean Mark Papermaster—after getting booted from his cushy role heading up the iPhone hardware team at Apple, we've not heard of him for over three months.

News emerged over the weekend that Cisco Systems has hired Papermaster as their new Vice President, after all that nonsense surrounded his departure, claiming he got let go because of antennagate. According to the WSJ in August, it was actually due to him losing "the confidence of Mr. Jobs months ago," and a lack of "the type of creative thinking expected at Apple and [he] wasn't used to Apple's corporate culture, where even senior executives are expected to keep on top of the smallest details of their areas of responsibility and often have to handle many tasks directly, as opposed to delegating them."

Considering the 25 years he spent pushing paper at IBM Corp, I'm sure he'll fit in well at Cisco. [Reuters]
