Georgia State Uses VR to Treat Fear of Public Speaking

I caught hell from some folks when I made fun of virtual reality headsets last week, because apparently there’s still at least two people in the world who still consider themselves VR/AR (augmented reality) enthusiests. You can add ‘research doctors in Georgia’ to the list as well, as Georgia State University announces a test program to use VR simulation to help patients conquer their fear of public speaking. And no, they don’t just make the sufferers wear the headsets in public for a while, then let them speak without them.

MedGadget also uses the term ‘VRx’ for ‘virtual reality therapy,’ which isn’t surely the first use of the term, but I like it.
