Gizmodo Is Launching a Daily Newsletter About AI

Made by humans. Envied by bots. Typos are our.s

Reading time 2 minutes

Part of the reason for that is because something new seems to pop up every five minutes—you can’t go to the bathroom without a ‘millennium’ math problem being “solved”—and because reading AI news can be like deciphering Latin: Some of the words make sense but you still have no idea what it all means.

At Gizmodo, we are unfazed when news happens every five minutes—it’s our bread and butter—and while we also do not know Latin, we’re pretty good at breaking down the complex AI discussions and breakthroughs into stories people can actually understand.

That’s why we’re launching The AI Brief, a new daily newsletter running Monday through Friday that will tell you just what the heck is happening in AI in about five minutes. The AI Brief will unearth some hidden gems you may have missed, such as what happens when you strand AI agents on a deserted island.

We know we aren’t alone in our quest to bring AI news to your inbox. There are a lot of AI newsletters out there, but none of them are made by Gizmodo.

The AI Brief has been designed with Gizmodo readers in mind. We know our readers aren’t interested in pages upon pages of business prose and grand manifestos—they want us to tell them what the deal is and maybe throw in a pop culture reference while we’re at it. Overall, they don’t want to fall asleep while they’re reading, especially since The AI Brief goes out between 7 and 8 a.m.—believe us, we don’t want to fall asleep while writing it either. That would be bad.

So, we’re going to make it spicy, we’re going to make bad jokes, and we’re going to make it short and sweet, because we know everyone is busy.

Sign up for The AI Brief here. Have any suggestions, complaints, or good tweets? Send them to [email protected]. See ya in your inbox.
