Anyone coming to Tokyo looking for the latest in electronics is sure to encounter the gigantic Bic Camera stores that can be found throughout the city. Sure, there are other big names, like Yodobashi Camera (especially their Shinjuku store) and Sakuraya, but Bic does seem to stand apart. The pictures you see here are from what used to be their flagship store in Ikebukuro (one of 5 in the area): 9 floors of mostly-electronic goodness. It’s now been beaten by the massive store they opened in Yurakucho a year or two ago, but not by much.
Inside you’ll not only find the latest in cameras, audio/video equipment, mobile phones, and anything else that uses batteries or gets plugged in, but also a large game section (those launch queues you see pictured are often taken in front of a Bic Camera), home furnishings and large appliances, wines and alcohol, frames for your glasses… The only thing you won’t find is probably clothing, and I’m sure that’s a good thing. Across the street you’ll find the equally impressive Bic P-Kan, featuring 7 floors of computers and accessories.
