According to Japanese mobile phone providers, 2005 is the year of music, a point that is made clear in almost all of their recent promotional campaigns. Most of the new models that are supposedly music ready haven t played around with form much, but Docomo s Music Porter does something different. Sure, it looks like a Gameboy Advance with numbered keys, but it sure is attracting a lot of attention, with prominent showcases at most stores, and people constantly playing around with them. When closed, it even looks a bit like the Mini-Disc players that still rule here—although their days are numbered.
