The Google Pixel 11 is the company’s new top-end phone and was presented at the Made by Google event before becoming available on August 20. It is powered by the Tensor G6, the first Tensor processor to be manufactured using a 2nm process, and Google states that the CPU is up to 20 percent more power efficient than the G5.

Thanks to this level of efficiency together with Adaptive Battery, battery life exceeds 30 hours depending on how heavily you use the phone. The camera bar on the back is thinner than that of any earlier Pixel model, and this version includes 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM.

Head over to Amazon and pre-order the Google Pixel 11 for $899, which is $100 less than its original list price of $999, and with the order you’ll get a $100 gift card; that amounts to a $100 discount and an extra 10% off.

A powerful smartphone perfect for Android users and Pixel enthusiasts

This year Google has withdrawn the 128GB option, which means that the Pixel 11 now begins at 256GB and offers a 512GB model for those who need even more storage space. For people who have, over the past few years, been deleting photos and getting rid of apps to make room, that single improvement is the most important. The available colors are Frost, Pistachio, Hibiscus, and Obsidian, and the device features an in-display fingerprint scanner as well as face unlock using the selfie camera.

The main effort was focused on the Tensor G6. By constructing it using TSMC’s 2nm process, smaller transistors are achieved, and smaller transistors lead to improved efficiency and faster AI processing without it being necessary for Google to enlarge the battery or produce more heat. The practical outcome is that complicated AI functions such as real-time translation can take place without the phone slowing down during the task.

On the camera side, the main lens has been upgraded to 48 megapixels with a bigger sensor and improved light sensitivity compared to what Google had used previously, and there’s a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens next to it as part of the revised bar; Google states that using an official Pixel case makes the phone appear almost bump-free, which is exactly the aim of making the bar thinner.

The phone includes seven years of security updates, identical to the commitment that Google made when it launched the Pixel 10 and remains one of the longer support periods offered by any manufacturer for an Android phone. Preorders became available on August 12, and the phones will begin to ship and appear in stores on August 20, so if you place an order now, the phone will arrive in about a week.

If you preorder the Google Pixel 11 on Amazon, you will receive a $100 gift card in addition to the phone, meaning that you get the equivalent of a case and a screen protector or most of a pair of Pixel Buds. It’s worth noting that Google doesn’t include a charger in the box, so if you don’t already have a spare USB-C charger stowed away in a drawer you’ll need to budget for one as well.
