How will the government get the word out the next time there’s a serious terrorist threat? The same way you tell everyone what you had for lunch and how much you like that video of that baby that did that stupid thing: social networking!
In addition to streamlining terror alerts from a soothing color-coded rainbow of fear to simple, two level—essentially “be scared” and “you’re dead”—system, they’ll be spreading the word via Twitter and Facebook. Just like Paul Revere would have done had he been alive today and/or a late 20-something single gal with a lot of time on her hands.
So keeping checking those feeds, America! It’s officially a matter of life and death. [AP]
