Guillermo del Toro is a collector. Props, paintings, weird shit—he buys anything, and puts it in a secondary residence he purchased just to hold it all. He calls this place Bleak House and while it was private for a long time, del Toro is now bringing his obsession to the public.

Starting in July, about 500 pieces from del Toro’s Bleak House collection will go on display at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA, for short.) It’ll remain on display there through November and then go to Toronto, as well Minneapolis (according to LACMA), and potentially Mexico City, Barcelona, Paris and New York (according to del Toro).

So what’s in the collection? Props from del Toro’s films, props from some of his favorite films he didn’t make, original paintings, statues, old books, toys, skeletons, pretty much anything the director finds cool and weird, he’d consider it. The video below from Criterion Collection gives you a good idea.

We’ll have more on this exhibit as it gets closer to opening.
