Guillermo del Toro’s Vampire Book The Strain Gets a TV Series

This is SUCH great news! The FX channel has just announced that they’re ordering 13 episodes of Guillermo del Toro’s vampire mystery book trilogy The Strain.

We’ve got a look at the first logo for The Strain along with a bit of news about Chuck Hogan and GDT’s TV adaptation. This vampire outbreak book will officially get a full series from FX, so get ready for lots of gruesome vampires who live in the sewers and shit themselves when they feed. YAY!

Corey Stoll of (who played Ernest Hemingway in Midnight in Paris) has been cast as the main character Dr. Ephraim Goodweather along with Mia Maestro and Sean Astin (who plays Jim Kent).

The Strain is supposed is set to premiere in July on FX. Get ready for seriously icky vampire fu.
