The GFHD100 box, which just appeared in the FCC's database comes with a Google Fiber sticker on it, and it looks similar to Verizon FiOS box with its Wi-Fi, IR, USB, Ethernet, HDMI input and output and Ethernet. Additional details are scant, but based on what we can see, it looks like the plans for Google Fiber are more ambitious than the company initially let on. Let's hope so: I could use a gigabit-per-second broadband connection in my town ASAP. [FCC via Engadget]
