Last month, Doctor Who audio play producer Big Finish revealed that the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble would finally return for a whole new series of audio adventures. Although we have to wait to hear them all until May of next year, there’s now a quick preview of what’s to come.
Radio Times unveiled the clip, which comes from Jenny Colgan’s “The Time Reaver,” the middle story of the trio due to be released as Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor Adventures in the middle of next year. You’ll have to head on over to their page to listen to the minute-long clip, but it’s the exact sort of delightful banter between the Doctor and Donna that we’ve dearly missed since the pair parted in “Journey’s End.” Plus, it has two fine actors saying “Wench!” a lot. What’s not to love? The magazine also has a brief synopsis of the adventure, which you can read below:
Calibris. The spaceport planet where anything goes. Where anyone who doesn’t want to be found can be lost, and where everything has its price. Where betentacled gangster Gully holds sway at the smugglers’ tavern, Vagabond’s Reach.
The alien Vacintians are trying to impose some order on the chaos. Soon the Doctor and Donna discover why. An illegal weapon is loose on the streets. A weapon that destroys lives… Slowly and agonisingly.
The Time Reaver.
This tease is far too much of a delight to have to wait so long for more. Can we have these two back in the TARDIS right this instant, please?
Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor Adventures releases in May 2016.
