How do you make a King Kong musical? Apparently just like this. Melbourne's Regent Theatre has constructed a giant King Kong for their musical adaptation of the 1933 movie, and it is completely nutso. We love it!
The giant Kong requires about 10 on-stage puppeteers and 3 off-stage operators to make him move. And holy shit does he move. The show features music by Sarah McLachlan — we can't say we're the biggest fans of the score but hot damn is that giant puppet awesome. Even when it's sleeping, it's making all these insane expressions. Come to Broadway, big sir!
Watch at the 2 minute mark here to see him RUNNING!
