Hot Toys’ Age of Ultron Hulkbuster was already a freakishly detailed and ridiculously impressive toy—and not to mention insanely expensive. Now it’s getting even more ridiculous, and that can only mean good things.
Hot Toys have released an extensive upgrade to the still-in-production figure, adding a variety of additional accessories and increased articulation for the toy. On top of the already announced accessories, the Hulkbuster now comes with two additional neck pieces to pose the figure, with the bust of Iron Man already inside, in various states of robotic undress, basically—each one opening up the chest piece a little further to recreate the armor forming around Tony. On top of that, the chest area of the suit can now also be swapped out with a battle-damaged chest piece to show the effects of the Hulkbuster’s tussle with the Hulk.
On top of that, the figure now has improved articulation in the feet and legs for more dynamic poses, and even extra Arm and gauntlet articulation so you can pose the Hulkbuster’s ginormous hands ready to fire off a repulsor blast.
In the grand scheme of things none of these additions are particularly exciting on their own, but it’s cool to see Hot Toys using the lengthy production time on the figure to tweak and improve it, as well as give people more actual choices and accessories for their money.
Speaking of which, the good news is that none of this extra stuff being added has changed the base price of the figure, which is due for release in the middle of next year—the slightly less good news is that means this bad boy will still set you back $825. I hope you’re already counting your coppers.
