One of the best things about “Atom Age Vampire” is that it’s not about vampires. It’s actually about a mad doctor who does weird things to Hiroshima victims . . . and women in negligees.
Lucky for you, Hulu has the ENTIRE movie for you to enjoy this evening. You can see the whole, gripping tale of Dr. Levin, who falls in love with a disfigured patient. He doses her with re-beautifying Derma-28 (not to be confused with monster-creating Derma-25!) and then when he runs out of it he has to start killing ladies to create more. Oh, and mainlining Derma-25 to make himself beastly enough to do it.
There’s also a murky Hiroshima-related subplot in this early-60s Italian flick, which is practically impossible to figure out. Something about mutants and people being killed so their glands can be removed through their necks? If you can explain it, you get an A+ in cheese interpretation.
