HP Slate to Run Palm WebOS, Says HP Taiwan Official

As expected and wished for, HP won’t use Windows 7 in their incoming HP Slate, but their newly acquired Palm WebOS. At least, that’s what Monty Wong—vice-president of personal computing systems at HP Taiwan—said to Digitimes.

Wong declared that HP will adopt WebOS for both “smartphones and tablets”, but not for notebooks. He also pointed out that the HP Slate—their newest tablet—will hit the market before October, with a “wide range” of software support at launch.
