Lions with swords. Yeah, the 80s was a pretty special time. So special that this time-lapse painting of the Thundercats is your nostalgia inducing video of the day.

The 72-inch x 132-inch oil painting was created by artist Robert Burden over a seven-month stretch. Entitled “Soldiers of Thundura,” the oil on canvas masterpiece took Robert 1000 hours and is one in a series of animation-inspired paintings.

Keep watching the video after the credits for a sneak peek into Robert’s next project. Personally, I hope he starts work on a Robotech painting. [Robert Burden via Geekosystem]
