Okay, they’re not on a 24-7 webcam yet, but this cloned beagle is part of a litter of the world’s first translucent dogs. Yes, you read that right. Under certain lights, this puppy’s proteins glow.

The pup in question – Ruby Puppy – is one of four cloned by a team of scientists in South Korea that produce a fluorescent protein that glows red under ultraviolet light. The reason for creating such a glowing puppy? Medical research, of course. But if you’re not a dog person, don’t worry; the same scientific team are working on doing the same for pigs, cows and other animals.
