One of the big revelations from the iOS 7 debut was that Apple’s working on an in-car version of the mobile operating system. Now app developer Steve Troughton-Smith has tweeted some images of what iOS could, and should, look like when it hits your dashboard. And they’re pretty slick.

It’s undeniable that iOS is swiftly headed to the car—Apple even says so officially, and Google’s doing the same with Android. Compared to Apple’s concept images of what in-car iOS music and texting integration might look like, Troughton-Smith’s illustrations show the navigation screens you’d likely see every day, including the ubiquitous safety disclaimer.

Clean, easy-to-read, and understandable, especially to anyone familiar with iOS 7. That’s a dashboard design we’d welcome. [Steve Troughton Smith via MacRumors]
